Terms and Conditions
Last updated September 7, 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Profiley. They cover the website and the apps, the profiles and pages published on them, and the orders, bookings and payments that pass through them. Please read them before you use Profiley.
1. About Profiley and these terms
Profiley is a platform where people and businesses publish a profile, share posts and reels, and where businesses take orders, bookings, delivery and payments through a QR code, a link or the app.
In these terms, Profiley, we and us mean the Profiley platform and the team that operates it. You means the person using it. These terms apply to profiley.com, to Profiley links and QR codes, and to the Profiley apps for iOS and Android.
By creating an account, scanning a Profiley QR code, placing an order or otherwise using the service, you accept these terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not accept them, please do not use Profiley.
2. Who may use Profiley
You must be at least 13 years old to hold an account. If you are under 18, you may use Profiley only with the permission of a parent or guardian, who accepts these terms on your behalf.
If you create a profile for a business, you confirm that you are authorised to act for that business and to accept these terms for it.
You may not use Profiley if we have previously closed your account for breaking these terms, or if the law that applies to you prohibits it.
3. Your account
You register with an email address and a password, or through Google, Apple or Facebook sign-in. Keep your credentials to yourself: anything done from your account is treated as done by you. Tell us at [email protected] if you think someone else has access to it.
Every account chooses a username, which is unique across Profiley and forms part of your public link. Some usernames are reserved. We may reclaim a username that impersonates a person or business, infringes a trademark, or is used to mislead.
One account can hold more than one profile, for example a personal profile and one or more business profiles, and switch between them. A business profile can invite team members and give them roles that limit what they see and do. The owner of a profile is responsible for what their team does with it.
We may ask you to verify your email address, and we may restrict an account that stays unverified or behaves in a way that suggests it is not being used by the person who opened it.
4. Your content
You keep ownership of what you publish. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, resize, cache and display it, and to show it to the people your visibility settings allow, for as long as you keep it on Profiley.
You confirm that you hold the rights to what you publish, and that it does not break the law or anyone else's rights.
Public content can be seen by anyone, indexed by search engines, and shown as a preview when it is shared on other platforms. You choose this for each profile and each post, and the search-indexing switch is in your profile settings.
Deleting content removes it from Profiley. Copies may remain in our backups for a limited period, and anything another person has already shared or saved is no longer ours to withdraw.
5. Rules of use
While you use Profiley, you agree not to do any of the following.
- Publish content that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, deceptive, sexually explicit, or that exploits or endangers children.
- Impersonate a person or a business, or claim a relationship, licence or endorsement you do not have.
- Send spam, scrape the service, automate access to it, or try to break, overload, probe or reverse-engineer it.
- Place orders or bookings you do not intend to honour, or use Profiley for fraud, money laundering or any other financial crime.
- Manipulate ratings, sparks, followers, reviews, ad auctions or discovery ranking, including by buying, selling or fabricating them.
- Offer goods or services that are illegal, or that need a licence or permit you do not hold.
- Collect other people's personal information from Profiley for a purpose they have not agreed to.
6. Moderation and reports
Text and images may be screened automatically, before or after they are published, including for explicit imagery and abusive language. Content can be blocked outright, or held for a person on our team to review.
Anyone can report a post, a comment, a reply or a profile. We look at reports and decide what to do, which may mean removing content, restricting a feature, or suspending or closing an account.
Automated screening makes mistakes. If a decision about your content or account looks wrong to you, write to [email protected] and we will look at it again.
7. Business profiles and the tools they use
Depending on its category, a business profile can publish a catalogue or menu, print QR codes for its tables, take table orders, offer bookings and prepaid packages, sell for delivery or collection, promote itself, and read its own insights.
You are responsible for what your profile says: prices, availability, item descriptions, ingredient and allergen information, licences, opening hours, delivery areas, cancellation rules, and any information the law requires your business to display.
A table QR code is public by design. Anyone holding the code can open the menu and join the table session, so staff decide which orders to accept, can remove a participant, and can close the session. Do not print a code for a table you do not control.
Honour the bookings and packages you accept, or cancel them promptly so the customer can make other plans.
8. Orders, bookings and the contract behind them
When you order from a business on Profiley, or book an appointment with one, the contract for that food, product or service is between you and that business. Profiley provides the platform and, where it is used, the payment step. We are not the seller, the restaurant, the clinic, the salon or the courier.
Businesses set their own prices, availability, preparation and service times, delivery areas and cancellation rules, and they decide whether to accept an order or a booking.
You can order from a table QR code as a guest, without an account. A guest session belongs to the device that opened it and expires after a period of inactivity, so keep using the same device and browser until the bill is settled.
If something is wrong with an order or a booking, raise it with the business first. Where the problem is with our platform, contact [email protected] and we will help.
9. Payments, fees and the wallet
Card payments are processed by our payment provider. Profiley never receives or stores your full card number; we keep only what we need to recognise a payment method and to reconcile a transaction.
A card payment may be authorised and held before a business accepts an order, and taken only when it accepts. If the business declines, the hold is released, and your bank may take a few business days to show the money back on your statement.
Cash is arranged with the business directly. Asking to pay cash at a table is a request, not a payment: it stays open until a member of staff settles it.
Your Profiley wallet holds money for you inside Profiley, from top-ups, refunds, credits or, for a business, from its sales. It is not a bank account, it earns no interest, it is held in Egyptian pounds, and it can be spent on Profiley or withdrawn where the payout rules below allow it.
A service fee may be added to a customer's transaction, and a commission may be deducted from a business's transaction. Whatever applies is shown to you before you confirm, and the amounts can change for future transactions.
You are responsible for your own taxes. A business is responsible for issuing whatever invoices and receipts the law requires of it.
10. Refunds and cancellations
Refunds for an order or a booking are started by the business you dealt with, under its own cancellation rules.
How the money comes back depends on how it was paid: a card payment that has not been taken yet is cancelled, a card payment that has been taken is refunded to the card or credited to your Profiley wallet, and a cash payment is returned by the business in cash.
How long a card refund takes is decided by the payment provider and your bank, not by us.
11. Payouts to businesses
A business can withdraw settled money from its wallet to its own bank account. Money becomes withdrawable once our payment provider confirms that it has cleared; anything not yet confirmed stays held until it is.
Withdrawals are subject to a minimum amount and are reviewed before they are paid. The bank details are yours to keep correct: we pay to the account you enter.
We may hold a payout while we look into a dispute, a chargeback, suspected fraud, or a mismatch between our records and the payment provider's.
12. Advertising
A business can promote its profile using prepaid wallet balance. Placement is decided by an auction, so we do not promise a number of impressions, clicks, followers or sales.
Ads must follow the rules of use, and we may reject or stop one. Charges already made for impressions that were delivered are not refundable, unless the error was ours.
13. Ratings, sparks and discovery
Energy ratings and the positive signals people leave for each other are built from real, verified activity on the platform. How results are ordered in discovery and search is our decision and can change.
Do not buy, sell, trade, fabricate or coerce ratings, sparks, follows or reviews. We remove signals we believe to be inauthentic, and the account behind them may lose access.
14. AI-generated profiles and features
Some profiles on Profiley are operated by the platform itself and their posts are generated by artificial intelligence. They are platform accounts rather than real people, and they are identified as such where they appear.
Some features use AI, for example content suggestions and the automatic screening of images. AI output can be wrong, so check anything you intend to rely on.
15. Messages we send you
We send you service messages by push notification, email or inside the app: order and booking updates, payment and payout notices, security alerts and account notices. Some of these are essential to the service and cannot be switched off while you hold an account.
Everything else is in your notification settings, and you can turn it off there or in your device settings.
16. Availability and changes to the service
We work to keep Profiley available, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. We may take the service down for maintenance, and we may change, add or remove features.
Some features are new and may change or be withdrawn while we learn how they are used.
If a change materially reduces something you have already paid for, we will tell you and put it right.
17. Suspension, closure and deletion
You can delete a profile or close your account from your settings. Deleting a profile removes its public content and its media from Profiley.
Records we are required to keep, such as transactions, the wallet ledger, invoices and payout history, are retained for legal and accounting purposes even after a profile is deleted. The Privacy Policy explains for how long.
You cannot delete a profile that still holds money, owes money, or has an open dispute, until that is settled.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, that exposes other people or us to risk, or where the law requires it. Where we are able to, we tell you why and what you can do about it.
18. Services we do not control
Profiley works with services that are not ours: a payment provider, sign-in providers, map and routing providers, the video platforms whose posts can be embedded in a Profiley post, app stores, and delivery partners. Their own terms govern their part, and we are not responsible for how they perform.
19. Our intellectual property
The Profiley name, logo, design, and the software behind the service are ours or our licensors'. Nothing in these terms gives you the right to use them, beyond referring to Profiley or linking to it in the ordinary way.
20. Disclaimers
Profiley is provided as it is. We do not warrant that the service will be free of errors or interruptions, that the content on it is accurate, or that a business will perform as it promises.
We are not responsible for the quality, safety or legality of what businesses sell, for what people publish, or for whether a business meets its own legal obligations towards you.
21. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under Egyptian law, including liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profit, lost business, lost data or lost goodwill, and our total liability for all claims connected with your use of Profiley is limited to the fees we earned from you in the three months before the claim arose.
22. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed, and we announce material changes in the app or by email before they take effect.
If you keep using Profiley after a change takes effect, you accept the updated terms. If you do not accept them, close your account.
23. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the courts of Cairo have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
We would much rather settle a problem directly. Write to [email protected] first and give us a chance to fix it.
24. How to reach us
For anything about these terms, your account, or a decision we have made, write to [email protected]. You can also use Report a Problem inside the app, which reaches the same team with your account details attached.
